MEMIC Names Michelle Allen Senior VP, Chief Human Resources Officer

Allen brings a wealth of experience in HR leadership to her new role.

Michelle Allen has assumed the position of senior vice president and chief human resources officer at MEMIC, one of the nation's biggest workers' compensation insurance providers. MEMIC President and CEO Michael P. Bourque announced the appointment.

According to a release on MEMIC’s website, Allen's qualifications include an MBA from Southern New Hampshire University and several national industry certifications, including Certified Employee Benefits Specialist, Compensation Management Specialist, and Senior Professional in Human Resources. She steps into this role after the retirement of Catherine F. Lamson, who served MEMIC for 23 years.

“Michelle was our top candidate through all three rounds of interviews,” Bourque said in a statement. “Her combination of experience, skills, and personality make her a great fit for our team, and I am excited for her to begin work with us as we scale the business for expansion and greater success.”

Bourque also recognized the contributions of MEMIC Vice President of Human Resources Deb Sabatino and Director, Payroll and Benefits Kristen Wintle during the hiring process.

With a career spanning back to 2007, Allen boasts 15 years of experience in officer-level HR positions. Her most recent role was as the executive vice president at Androscoggin Bank. Previously, Allen held positions at Camden National Bank and Acadia Insurance.

MEMIC serves over 20,000 employers and an estimated 300,000 employees nationwide with dedicated safety and injury management service teams.
