AMVAC Chemical Corp. Recognized Once Again with ‘Star’ Designation

The formulating and packing facility in Idaho has had the special designation for 20 years.

An agricultural chemical company is continuing its history of being recognized under OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program (VPP).

Earlier this week, OSHA announced that it had renewed the ‘star’ status of the AMVAC Chemical Corp., specifically the site in Marsing, Idaho, according to a news release. AMVAC Chemical Corp., whose parent company is American Vanguard Corp., has had the star designation—the highest level of recognition under the VPP—for 20 years.

"OSHA commends AMVAC's continued dedication to workplace safety and health," said OSHA Regional Administrator Dorinda Hughes in Seattle in a news release. "Everyone at AMVAC should be proud of this achievement because retaining 'Star' status requires commitment from both management and workers."

Per AMVAC’s website, the Marsing site is a formulating and packing facility.

The VPP recognizes employers for their work on “safety and health management systems” and few injury and illness reports, according to its website.
