Columbia Southern University Announces New Occupational Safety and Health Programs

Among the new programs are a Doctor of Occupational Safety and Health and an Occupational Safety and Health Post-Graduate Certificate.

Online university Columbia Southern University has announced that it is adding new occupational safety and health-related academic programs.

Per a press release, these programs—part of 27 new programs being added—include a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety and Health – Sustainability, a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Management – Occupational Safety and Health, a Doctor of Occupational Safety and Health and an Occupational Safety and Health Post-Graduate Certificate.

“Columbia Southern is dedicated to advancing the safety profession through education,” said Misti Kill, Ph.D., Dean of the College of Safety and Emergency Services in an email. “Our new Doctor of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) degree provides safety professionals with an opportunity to capitalize on their years of work experience, while preparing them to make lasting contributions in the field of safety as scholar-practitioners. It’s one program that many graduates and students have asked about for several years. Additionally, our new sustainability concentration in the bachelor’s of OSH program has also piqued the interest of many and addresses a real need in the industry.”

Though enrollment for these programs began in April, those interested are still able to enroll.

In addition to these new programs, the university also offers an Associate of Science in Occupational Safety and Health, a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety and Health with multiple concentrations and a Master of Science in Occupational Safety and Health.
