Dollar General Found ‘Jeopardizing Worker Safety’ at Pennsylvania Store

The company faces citations for one willful and one repeat violation.

OSHA has once again cited Dollar General after an inspection, this time in Pennsylvania.

According to a news release, after receiving a complaint, in November 2022, OSHA found obstructed exit routes and electrical panels at a Dollar General in Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania, a town slightly over 90 miles north of Harrisburg.

“Exposing employees to these hazards can be dangerous, especially in an emergency,” said OSHA Area Director Mary Reynolds in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.

The company faces $245,544 in proposed penalties. These violations, which resulted in citations for one willful and one repeat violation, are similar to those found at many other Dollar General stores across the U.S. In addition, “The Jersey Shore inspection is among more than 180 investigations nationwide in which OSHA has found the company jeopardizing worker safety,” per the news release.
