Federal Advisory Council on Occupational Safety and Health to Meet in November

The meeting will take place on November 17, 2022, from 1 to 4 p.m. ET.

On Thursday, November 17, 2022, the Federal Advisory Council on Occupational Safety and Health (FACOSH) will meet, OSHA announced recently.

According to a news release and the FACOSH web page, FACOSH, "a Presidential advisory body to the Secretary of Labor," focuses on federal employee health and safety and addresses concerns like injury reduction and safety and health programs for these employees. The meeting will be open to the public virtually. From 1 to 4 p.m. ET, attendees can hear about, according to OSHA:

  • “Updates from OSHA leadership.
  • OSHA's National Emphasis Program on Outdoor and Indoor Heat-Related Hazards and programmed inspections.
  • Federal agencies' responsibilities under 29 CFR Part 1960, Basic Program Elements for Federal Employee Occupational Safety and Health Programs and Related Matters.”

Use the Federal eRulemaking Portal, Docket Number OSHA-2021-0010, to make comments or file a request to speak. When submitting a comment or request, include the document number, OSHA said. Comments and requests are open until November 10.
