NSC Safety Congress & Expo 2022: What to See and Do in San Diego

This year’s congress and expo will be held at the San Diego Conference Center.

The NSC Safety Congress & Expo 2022 will take place from Monday, Sept. 19 to Wednesday, Sept. 21 at the San Diego Conference Center, 111 W. Harbor Dr., San Diego, CA 92101.

San Diego Attractions

There’s so much to see and do before and after the show. San Diego has something for everyone, from sandy beaches to delicious food to great shopping.

The USS Midway Museum is only a mile walk from the Convention Center. Tour the “longest-serving U.S. Navy aircraft carrier of the 20th century” and get access to 60 locations, according to sandiego.org. The Museum is open every day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the last admission at 4 p.m.

San Diego brags many beautiful beaches that offer different coastal attractions. La Jolla, known as the “the jewel,” has a variety of site-seeing options, like the 300-foot cliffs. Beachgoers can also swim at the La Jolla Shores. Coronado Beach was voted one of the best beaches in the US by TripAdvisor, according to sandiego.org. Guests can enjoy the beach along with the shops and restaurants available nearby. Pacific Beach offers boardwalks, swimming areas and a beach for surfing.

For meal options, look no further than Little Italy and the Gaslamp Quarter. Little Italy is only one and a half miles from the convention center and has options for everyone. Founded in the 1920s, Little Italy features a wide range of restaurants, from those owned by chefs from Top Chef to an Italian deli to breweries. You can also spend time visiting the local boutiques and art galleries. The Gaslamp Quarter is a great location for food and entertainment. After a delicious meal at any of the restaurants, entertainment is just steps away. Gaslamp offers cigar and rooftop lounges, comedy shows, live music and more.

Even though fall is almost here, make sure to pack for warm weather. Expect an average temperature of 76 degrees Fahrenheit on Sept. 19, 77 on the Sept. 20 and 80 on Sept. 21. Although Monday will be partly cloudy, Tuesday and Wednesday will be sunny for most of the day, according to weather.com.
