OSHA to Hold Meeting for Comments on Whistleblower Program

The virtual event will be held to collect feedback from the public.

OSHA is holding a virtual meeting about the whistleblower program on May 18, 2022.

According to a press release, this meeting is meant to gather public information and comments on OSHA’s Whistleblower Protection Program, specifically about healthcare workers.

The free meeting is open to the public from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. EDT. It will take place via telephone and Zoom, and Spanish translation will be available. Register by May 11, 2022 online in English or Spanish.

This is the ninth in a series of meetings on the whistleblower program. The previous meetings, held in years past, covered various topics such as outreach efforts and protection from retaliation during the pandemic.

Per the press release, OSHA is looking for comments on:

  1. How can OSHA deliver better whistleblower customer service?
  2. What kind of assistance can OSHA provide to help explain the agency’s whistleblower laws to employees and employers?
  3. What can OSHA do to ensure that healthcare workers are protected from retaliation for raising concerns related to COVID-19?

Comments can be submitted on Docket No. OSHA-2018-0005 until May 11.
