MN House Passes Bill on Warehouse Workers’ Safety
Certain employers would be required to adhere to new standards if the bill becomes a law.

This week, the Minnesota House of Representatives passed a bill protecting workers in warehouses. The bill now goes to the state Senate.
The bill, HF2774, creates requirements for specific employers with warehouse workers. Employers would be required to provide written notification of quotas to employees, provide access to employee’s work speed data and alter quotas to allow for mandated breaks, like meal, restroom and prayer breaks. An employer must also be inspected if incidence rates are 30 percent higher than average, with actions outlined to lower the number.
If it becomes law, the bill would affect employers with 250 or more workers at one warehouse or 1,000 or more workers between multiple warehouses.
The House passed the bill 72-60.
