Evolving the Relationship Between Safety and the C-Suite

There are many roadblocks safety professionals face when improving safety at their facility, including lack of corporate level support. In this episode, Editor Sydny Shepard discusses methods you can use to evolve your relationship with the C-Suite.

The relationship between the C-Suite and safety professionals is changing… and hopefully for the better. When businesses and facilities were shut down in March of 2020, executives turned to safety professionals to ask the hardest questions. Overnight, safety professionals like you had to become experts in a topic that continuously changed from day to day, sometimes even minute by minute as public health officials tried to update the greater public as well as they possibly could.

Because of quick turnarounds in such a harsh environment, executives truly began to understand the value of the safety professional and not only that - they began to value the importance of safety and health programs at their facilities. Even before the pandemic, however, relations between the C-Suite and safety professionals were on the up and up. Why? Because its good for business.
