Getting the Upper Hand: Selecting the Right Hand Protection for Your Workers

We are talking all about hand protection in this interview between editor Sydny Shepard and Fastenal's Safety Sales Director Evan Hardin. Listen in as they discuss hand injuries, PPE, new technology and how to keep your workers safe on the job.

We are diving into all things hand protection during today’s episode! I had the great pleasure of interviewing Evan Hardin, a Safety Sales Director for Fastenal. We talk about hand injury statistics, how workers can evaluate the hazards on their worksite to find the proper hand protection for them, the newest technology coming out as well as what goes into the development, creation and distribution of a hand protection line.

Before we get to the good stuff, let’s talk about Evan a bit more. In addition to being an incredibly passionate professional when it comes to safety, Evan oversees nearly 40 safety sales specialists across the western United States. Evan started with Fastenal in 2006 and has helped grow the Safety Program from a product distributor into a strategic safety partner. Evan’s team supports Fastenal’s branch and sales teams with expertise in safety regulations, product specifications, and safety program implementation.

Over the course of 2020, the safety team faced the challenges of supply allocation due to the pandemic. By working directly with suppliers and customers, Evan and his team provided masks, gloves, and other critical PPE to essential businesses across the globe. As the COVID situation improves, the Fastenal Safety Team hopes to get back to their key program focuses: eliminating SIFs (serious injuries and fatalities), increasing regulatory compliance, and eliminating waste in safety supply chains.

This is probably one of our longest episodes to date, but we cover a lot! Settle in and listen to our important conversation on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Stitcher, Spotify and more
