Key Indicators of a Strong Safety Culture

Listen in as OH&S Editor Sydny Shepard discusses the key indicators of a strong safety culture with Blackline Safety Chief Revenue Officer Sean Stinson.

There are many acronyms, important phrases and buzz words in the safety industry. One of the most common, however, might be “safety culture.” Let’s define the term, shall we? A safety culture is the collection of beliefs, perceptions and values that employees share in relation to risks within an organization, such as a workplace or a community.

While having safety programs and standards in place is a great place to start in the long journey of mitigating employee injuries at your worksite—building a strong safety culture with all of those in the company, from those in leadership to employees, is one of the best ways to insure compliance, increase productivity and decrease catastrophic incidents.

In this episode, I have with me Sean Stinson, Chief Revenue Officer at Blackline Safety. Sean and I have a wonderful chat, all about how important it is to invest in your workplace community culture and what key elements must be evident to prove a strong safety culture.

So, how do you know if your company has a strong safety culture? You'll have to listen to the episode to find out! Download, stream and listen to OH&S SafetyPod on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Stitcher, Spotify and more.
