OH&S SafetyPod: Coronavirus Basics — An Update on the Pandemic

OH&S Editors Sydny Shepard and Amanda Smiley discuss the newest updates related to the Coronavirus, or COVID-19.

Coronavirus, COVID-19, social distancing, self-quarantine. These are all words that were not part of our regular vocabulary just a few short weeks ago. Two weeks ago, OH&S Content Editor Amanda Smiley and I recorded a podcast that educated our OH&S SafetyPod listeners on the basics of COVID-19. We quickly learned that the podcast would become outdated within hours of it going live online. The news and headlines were rapidly changing from hour to hour - and continue to do so.

Due to this, Amanda and I decided to sit down and record a part two to our original podcast. In this episode we will be updating listeners on the newest updates concerning the virus. What health organizations recommend Americans do to stop the spread of the virus, what you should do if you’re exhibiting symptoms and how long this pandemic will continue to impact our society.

Please keep in mind that this interview was recorded on Thursday, March 19 with the most up-to-date information. Depending on when you are listening to this, some statistics may have changed. If you’d like to check out our most recent news coverage on the virus, go to www.ohsonline.com/coronavirus.
