OSHA’s Safe + Sound Week Begins in Early August

According to OSHA, “the week-long event encourages employers to implement workplace safety initiatives, and highlight workers’ contributions to improving safety.”

OSHA’s Safe + Sound Week will take place Aug. 12-18, 2019 to encourage businesses and organizations by showing them the successes of workplace safety and health programs.

According to OSHA, “the week-long event encourages employers to implement workplace safety initiatives, and highlight workers’ contributions to improving safety.” By implementing safety and health programs in the workplace, safety incidents can be avoided and workers’ compensations costs can be reduced. This program will also help businesses and organizations proactively identify potential hazards before they are an issue.

Organizations of any size or industry can participate in order to show their commitment to safety to works, customers, the public or supply chain partners. Last year, more than 2,700 businesses participated.

After businesses or organizations have completed the events, they can download a certificate to recognize their efforts to enhance their workplace safety.
