FEMA is making some of its disaster mitigation specialists available in home improvement stores in various Florida locations through Nov. 11 to offer home improvement tips and techniques, proven methods to prevent or reduce damage from future disasters, and advice for building hazard-resistant homes.

The information they'll offer is intended for everyone, according to the agency, which says they topics to be covered include flood insurance, elevating utilities, and rebuilding flooded homes.
