Stratus Pharmaceuticals Ordered to Cease Distributing Unapproved Drugs

Sonar Products has also been ordered to cease operations

According to a news release from the FDA, Sonar Products has been ordered to cease operations until violations are corrected related to the shipping of unapproved, improperly labeled, and contaminated drugs in interstate commerce.

Stratus Pharmaceuticals has also been ordered to stop manufacturing and released the adulterated drugs. The companies manufacture and distribute dermatological products, including washes, creams and ointments.

“These companies have endangered the public by selling products that have not been proven to be safe or effective and are poorly made,” said Janet Woodcock, M.D., director of the FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research. “The agency will continue to take aggressive enforcement action against those who repeatedly violate the law and put consumers at risk.”
