NSC to Walk Through Injury Facts Report
The council says Americans are more vulnerable to accidental deaths than ever before.
The National Safety Council has announced it will walk through the 2017 edition of Injury Facts, a report on the leading causes of accidental death and injury, on Wednesday, May 10.
According to the NSC, 146,571 people lost their lives to an accidental incident in 2015. That is a 7 percent increase from the number of accidental deaths during the previous year. Registration is required for the event, which will highlight the following topics: why accidental deaths are at an all-time high, increasing odds of dying, differences in accidental death rates by ethnicity and race, and more.
NSC also is hosting its annual Green Cross for Safety Gala on May 25 at Loews Coronado Bay, San Diego. The event recognizes those who have contributed to safer homes, communities, and transportation.
