OSHA Renews Partnership with Alllied Construction Industries

The trade association represents more than 500 companies.

OSHA has announced a renewed partnership with Allied Construction Industries, a trade association that represents more than 500 companies in Ohio and 30,000 construction workers.

The partnership will protection construction works through training, daily safety meetings, safety orientations, and stand-downs that will increase workers' knowledge of hazards, safety procedures, and more.

The association, which first signed the partnership with OSHA in 2000, represents workers in construction, concrete, masonry, sheet metal, electrical, heating and air-conditioning, and finishing trades. The partnership will continue to emphasize reducing injury and illness on the job site by focusing on falls, struck-by hazards, caught-in/between, and electrocutions—the top four construction industry hazards.

"Workplace safety is achieved when everyone works together to recognize hazards and follow safety protocols and procedures," said Ken Montgomery, OSHA's area director in Cincinnati. "OSHA has found partnerships like this set the standard that safety will not be compromised."
