DOL Awards Grant to Help Displaced Coal Workers

A grant for up to $2 million will go towards helping Wyoming coal workers affected by industry layoffs.

A National Dislocated Worker Grant in the amount of $2 million has been approved for the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services, according to a report. The award will towards approximately 140 coal workers who have been affected by industry layoffs.

The funding is part of a multi-agency effort to invest resources into communities affected by changes in the coal economy.
