FMCSA Starts 2017 Drug and Alcohol Information Survey

Selected trucking and bus companies must submit their 2016 drug and alcohol testing results by March 15.

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has begun alerting some trucking and bus companies that they are required to submit their 2016 DOT drug and alcohol testing program results within 60 days, in this case by March 15, 2017, as directed by 49 CFR 382.403. Results from the agency's Annual Drug and Alcohol Information Survey are used to determine the random testing rates for the following year.

Carriers notified by FMCSA that they have been selected to complete the survey are required to respond or face possible civil penalties.
