FMCSA Seeking Input on 'Beyond Compliance' Program

The agency is seeking stakeholders' input during the next 60 days.

DOT's Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration is seeking public input during the next 60 days on its Beyond Compliance program. Due to the Fixing America's Surface Transportation (FAST) Act, FMCSA is required to implement a Beyond Compliance program no later than June 2017. The proposed program would allow recognition for a motor carrier that: installs advanced safety equipment; uses enhanced driver fitness measures; adopts fleet safety management tools, technologies, and programs; or satisfies other standards determined appropriate by the FMCSA administrator.

FMCSA has held three public listening sessions on this program thus far and already has heard from its Motor Carrier Safety Advisory Committee.
