NTSB to Unveil 2016 Most Wanted on Jan. 13

"The issues on the list are, by definition, among the most challenging transportation safety issues, and we hope that focusing more attention on them will encourage industry and government agencies to take action that will help move the needle," said NTSB Chairman Christopher A. Hart.

The National Transportation Safety Board will unveil its 2016 Most Wanted List of transportation safety improvements during a Jan. 13, 2016, news conference, getting an early start on the issues its members consider most important.

"The multi-modal Most Wanted List is an annual roadmap to assist in improving transportation safety. The issues on the list are, by definition, among the most challenging transportation safety issues, and we hope that focusing more attention on them will encourage industry and government agencies to take action that will help move the needle," said NTSB Chairman Christopher A. Hart.

The 2015 list includes the impact of distractions on operators in all modes of transportation, ending substance impairment in transportation, implementing positive train control, making helicopter operations safer, and others.

The 2016 list's announcement will come during the 95th Annual Meeting of the Transportation Research Board, which is taking place in Washington, D.C. More details on the Jan. 13 announcement will be released closer to the date of the event on www.ntsb.gov.
