California Company Recalls Celery Products
They are linked to an E. coli outbreak at Costco but are an ingredient in several companies' products, according to FDA.
Taylor Farms Pacific, Inc. of Tracy, Calif., has recalled celery products that are included in several companies' foods, including Costco, Albertsons, Safeway, Walmart, Sams Club, Target, Starbucks, and others, because the celery could contain E. coli 0157:H7.
"The products listed below are being recalled out of an abundance of caution due to a Celery and Onion Diced Blend testing positive for E. coli 0157:H7 in a sample taken by the Montana Department of Health," FDA reported Nov. 26, adding that the Celery and Onion Diced Blend tested by the state of Montana was used in a Costco Rotisserie Chicken Salad that has been linked to a multi-state outbreak.
FDA's notice listed foods ranging from holiday turkey to Waldorf salad, celery sticks, and several chicken dishes that include the recalled celery.
