A+A Features Rescues High and Low

Lots of companies are sending employees aloft, or underwater, to show off rescue equipment at this year's A+A trade fair

DUSSELDORF -- Hall 6 of the A+A 2015 trade fair is the place to go for any attendee seeking guidance for high-level rescue or water rescue, for that matter. The hall is teeming with fall protection equipment manufacturers and suppliers from many countries, and in one corner of the hall is a setup for demonstrating rescues up to 50 feet aloft and on water. DLRG and Technisches Hilfswerk, a department of the German Federal Ministry of the Interior, are involved in the demonstrations. They include workers in full rescue gear and in scuba gear, with the latter helping an worker who has fallen into the water. They deploy a fast-inflating raft and pull the unfortunate worker into it, then pull him to safety.

Exhibitors throughout the trade fair's halls, not just in Hall 6, are demonstrating their rescue at heights equipment in the same way: Attendees can see MSA, 3M, Capital Safety, Mittelmann Sicherheitstechnik, and many other exhibitors using this technique to display their latest products.
