Looking Ahead to NSC 2016

The biggest U.S. safety trade show of the year returns to the West Coast next October, taking place in the shadow of Disneyland at the Anaheim Convention Center.

Disneyland's 60th anniversary celebration is taking place this year, which means the attendees of the 2016 National Safety Council Congress & Expo in Anaheim, Calif., will be a year too late to take part in the anniversary activities. But there's still plenty to look forward to as the biggest U.S. safety trade show of the year returns to the West Coast next October, taking place in the shadow of Disneyland at the Anaheim Convention Center.

The trade show will take place Oct. 15-21, with the expo set for Oct. 17-19. The 1.6 million-square-foot convention center is the largest convention center on the West Coast, and it hosted about 20,000 attendees only last week at the ASIS International 61st Annual Seminar and Exhibits, one of the largest U.S. security trade shows of the year.

Aside from Disneyland, area attractions include the seaside cities of Laguna Beach, Huntington Beach, and Dana Point; and Catalina Island. Close by the convention center are Disney California Adventure, Downtown Disney, and Anaheim GardenWalk, a 460,000-square-foot outdoor dining, shopping, and entertainment complex.

Attendees coming from out of state may choose to fly to LAX, which is 34 miles from the convention center. John Wayne/Orange County Airport is only 13 miles from it and is served by most major U.S. airlines, however.
