OSHA's Top 10 Safety Violations of 2015 Announced at NSC Expo

Fall protection was the most common violation in 2015, followed by hazard communication.

ATLANTA -- During day two of the 2015 National Safety Council Congress & Expo, OSHA's top ten most-cited safety violations for FY2015 were announced. Unsurprisingly, fall protection was number one.

"In injury prevention, we go where the data tell us to go," said National Safety Council President and CEO Deborah A.P. Hersman. "The OSHA Top 10 list is a roadmap that identifies the hazards you want to avoid on the journey to safety excellence."

Here is the complete list of the top ten for fiscal year 2015:

  • Fall Protection: 6,721
  • Hazard Communication: 5,192
  • Scaffolding: 4,295
  • Respiratory protection: 3,305
  • Lockout/tagout: 3,002
  • Powered industrial trucks: 2,760
  • Ladders: 2,489
  • Electrical: 2,404
  • Machine guarding: 2,295
  • Electrical, general requirements: 1,973

The final report for FY2015 will be released in December.
