Australia's Civil Aviation Authority Wins Top Award

Safe Work Australia presented its Work Health and Safety Reporting Award to the agency during a ceremony in Melbourne.

Australia's Civil Aviation Authority received the Work Health and Safety Reporting Award from Safe Work Australia recently at a ceremony in Melbourne, recognizing the authority's success at incorporating work health and safety performance in its annual report.

Safe Work Australia Chief Executive Officer Michelle Baxter encouraged all businesses to include WHS reporting in their annual reports. "Congratulations to CASA. Their annual report illustrates a commitment to ensuring their workers, contractors and others stay healthy and safe at work," Baxter said. "CASA's annual report was selected from a very high standard of finalists that included BHP Billiton, Woodside Petroleum, and the City of Ryde. Work health and safety should be a fundamental part of any organization's business decisions, activities, and processes, and this should be reflected in your annual report."

The Australasian Reporting Awards (ARA) provide an opportunity for organizations to benchmark their reports against the ARA criteria. They are open to all organizations that produce an annual report.
