Downtown Dallas Works Fine for ASSE's Big Show

The expo is bulging with a record number of exhibitors, an ASSE spokesman confirmed, and the downtown area's attractions are impressing visitors.

Two weeks after torrential rains across much of Texas during the Memorial Day weekend caused deadly flooding, Dallas is sun-splashed and shining during the American Society of Safety Engineers' Safety 2015 annual conference and expo. The expo inside the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center is bulging with a record number of exhibitors, an ASSE spokesman confirmed Monday, and the downtown area's attractions are impressing visitors.

The Trinity River alongside the picturesque Dallas skyline remains high, although its current height is nowhere near to topping the levees on both sides of it, thanks to the rains.

A first-time visitor to Dallas from Winnipeg shared that he and a friend enjoyed a fabulous dinner Sunday evening at www.frankunderground.com, an invitation-only weekend dining experience offered by two former Master Chef finalists. The Omni Dallas Hotel's casual dining venue, The Owners Box, was busy during Monday's lunch hour, and exhibitors praised their accommodations at the Aloft Dallas Downtown and Fairmont Dallas hotels downtown.

Safety 2015 continues through Wednesday, June 10, with a full slate of educational sessions. The expo's final day is Tuesday. Next year's Safety 2016 will take place in Atlanta.
