FAA Proposes $105,500 Penalty Against Servisair LLC

The company allegedly violated drug and alcohol testing regulations.

The Federal Aviation Administration has proposed a $105,500 civil penalty against Servisair LLC of Las Vegas for violating drug and alcohol testing regulations, according to an agency news release.The company was acquired by Swissport in 2013.

FAA has alleged the aircraft ground handling company failed to administer drug and alcohol tests to the minimum required percentage of employees during 2013, and that the company failed to add five employees to its random testing pool for weeks or months after they completed their ground coordinator training. Finally, FAA alleges that Servisair failed to distribute its drug-use policy and failed to display and distribute educational material and an employee assistance hotline number following a move to a new terminal.
