Millionth Powered Access License Card Issued

To celebrate the milestone, IPAF is inviting all valid PAL Card holders to enter a drawing -- and there are currently more than 500,000 valid PAL Cards worldwide.

The International Powered Access Foundation (IPAF) has issued the millionth PAL Card (Powered Access License, or Powered Access Licensed-Registration in North America) under its voluntary, industry-led operator training program, which is certified by TÜV as conforming to ISO 18878. To celebrate the milestone, IPAF is calling on all valid PAL Card holders to enter a drawing for some "amazing prizes." There could be thousands of entries: The PAL Card expires after five years and there are currently more than 500,000 valid cards worldwide.

The cards are issued to individuals who have been trained to operate powered access equipment safely and effectively. They can be issued in standard or Smart PAL Card (machine-readable) versions; beginning in January 2015, all cards issued will be Smart PAL Cards.

IPAF, which is based in England, announced there will be five top prizes for verified operators to win a free trip to the IPAF Summit and International Awards for Powered Access, with airfare, accommodation, and a gala dinner included. The event will be held March 25-26, 2015, at the Crystal Gateway Marriott Hotel in Arlington, Va. Information about it is available at www.iapa-summit.info.

"The secret of the PAL Card's success is the guarantee that the training and testing is delivered to consistent standards worldwide by highly motivated and qualified instructors," said IPAF CEO Tim Whiteman.

All holders of valid PAL Cards are invited to enter the draw by verifying their PAL Card at www.ipaf.org/checkpal. The competition closes on Jan. 26, 2015, and the winners will be announced on Feb. 1, 2015.

IPAF members initiated its operator training program in 1991. Today, the training is provided by more than 620 approved training centers in 30 countries.
