National Safety Council Announces Support of NHTSA Administrator Nomination
The NSC sent out a message showing their support for Mark Rosekind
The National Safety Council has announced their support for the president’s nomination of Dr. Mark Rosekind to serve as administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
“As a member of the NTSB, Dr. Rosekind has been instrumental in calling attention to top transportation safety issues such as drunk, drugged and distracted driving,” said the NSC in a news release.
“Dr. Rosekind will bring strong leadership and a critical safety focus to NHTSA,” said Deborah A.P. Hersman, NSC president and CEO. “Mark's expertise, experience and independence will serve the public interest as NHTSA addresses both organizational and behavioral issues that result in deaths and injuries on our roadways.”
The NSC also urged the Senate to confirm the nomination so that Dr. Rosekind can get to the “important work of driving down the unacceptable and preventable deaths and injuries that continue to occur on the nation’s roads every day.”
