ESFI Hosting Counterfeiting Webinar Series

The first installment on Oct. 29 kicks off the foundation's "Zero Tolerance for Counterfeits" series about fake electrical products.

The Electrical Safety Foundation International will begin a free webinar series Oct. 29 about the dangers of counterfeit electrical products. The first one on Oct. 29 will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. EST and is titled "Counterfeiting: Understanding Your Risk and Liability." It will cover recent trends in counterfeiting, as well as the legal responses to this threat. Panelists will discuss court cases and seizures as part of the fight against counterfeit goods, new technologies, practices, and collaborations involved in this issue.

This initial webinar begins ESFI's "Zero Tolerance for Counterfeits" webinar series, which features industry experts discussing counterfeit electrical products. ESFI is encouraging the public to submit questions to the panelists before and during the webinar.

The speakers during the first webinar will include DeeJay Smith, Brand Protection Group manager for Proctor and Gamble – North America, Latin America, Asia, who will discuss recent trends and evolving threats to the legitimate supply channel; and Clark Silcox, general counsel for the National Electrical Manufacturers Association, who will review recent cases involving counterfeit products and discuss legal trends. The discussion will be moderated by ESFI's president.
