OSHA Looking for Members to Serve on Federal Advisory Council

The organization is seeking nominations for five members

OSHA has announced a request for nominations and the appointment of members to the Federal Advisory Council on Occupational Safety and Health, according to a news release.

FACOSH advises the secretary of labor on matters relating to the occupational safety and health of federal employees. According to the OSHA site, the council provides guidance and recommendations to the secretary and OSHA on ways to reduce and keep to a minimum the number and severity of injuries and illnesses in the federal workforce. FACOSH also encourages each federal executive branch department and agency to establish and maintain effective occupational safety and health programs.

The council is made up of 16 members, eight who represent federal agency management and eight form labor organizations representing federal employees.
