Honeywell Honors Colorado Springs Firefighters
In addition to honoring the men and women who fought the Waldo Canyon Wildfires and the Black Forest Wildfires, Honeywell donates $255,000 worth of safety gear to them
Honeywell has honored firefighters that fought two different wildfires during 2012 and 2013—the Waldo Canyon Wildfires and the Black Forest Wildfires—by donating $255,000 worth of personal protective gear and money. They donated the goods at a ceremony held in the Honeywell Technology Solutions facility in Colorado.
In addition, employees were able to donate money from the Honeywell Humanitarian Relief Fund (HHRF) to support Colorado Springs after the wildfires. The money went to the $255,000 donation of gear and cash.
In Waldo Canyon, Cascade, Crystal Park and Palmer Lake received gear, and in Black Forest, Simla, Ellicott and Calhan received gear. In addition, cash donations went to Stratmoor Hills, Divide, El Paso County Sheriff Wildland Fire Operations, Green Mountain Falls, Manitou Springs and Black Forest.
