Looking Ahead to VPPPA's 30th Annual Conference

The Gaylord Resort Hotel & Convention Center at National Harbor, Md., is the site for the August 2014 event.

NASHVILLE – Attendees, exhibitors, and the Voluntary Protection Programs Participants' Association, Inc.'s staffers and board members gave this week's national conference very high marks on everything from the food served at exhibit hall receptions and lunches open to all participants to the workshops and the venue where it took place, the sprawling Gaylord Opryland Hotel & Convention Center here.

All in all, it's hard to imagine how the 2014 conference could be much better when participants by the thousands arrive at the Gaylord Resort Hotel & Convention Center in National Harbor, Md., just a few miles south of Washington, D.C., next summer. The conference dates are Aug. 25-28.

Participants who stay at the resort can visit Old Town Alexandria, Georgetown, and other local attractions by water taxi or enjoy a river cruise past Washington's famous monuments.

VPPPA included a call for 2014 conference workshop proposals in the Nashville event's conference journal. This includes 60-minute workshops, eight-hour Skill Builder Workshops, and four-hour pre-conference workshops. The submission deadline is Dec. 6, 2013. Submissions will be reviewed during January and February 2014, and selected speakers will be notified before April 1, 2014.

The association will mail the 2014 conference’s advance program to its entire membership, along with government officials and others on its mailing list, in early May.
