ESFI, WESCO Publish Electrical Safety Guide

While it showcases numerous products, the guide also contains case studies and information to help companies prevent hazardous exposures.

To mark National Electrical Safety Month, WESCO International and the Electrical Safety Foundation (ESFI) have collaborated on a new guide. The 28-page document will help WECO customers and others protect themselves against electrical hazards found in the workplace.

"Most workplace electrical fatalities and injuries can be avoided by following proper safety procedures such as lockout/tagout, de-energizing, and wearing correct personal protective equipment," said Steve Van Oss, senior vice president and COO of WESCO. He said the company "prides itself on being a total solution provider, and our Electrical Safety Guide is the latest example of our comprehensive portfolio of safety and security solutions to ensure that those who work around electricity go home safely at the end of each work day."

The guide will be distributed to WESCO employees, suppliers, and customers, and is available here.

"We applaud WESCO for making the safety of its employees and professional network a foremost priority though the creation of this valuable resource," said Brett Brenner, ESFI's president. "Safety is the most important issue for anyone who works on or around energized equipment, and we are thankful for WESCO's ongoing support to help us fulfill our mission of reducing electrically related deaths, injuries, and property losses."
