Massachusetts Forever 21 Receives Two Repeat Violations
In 2011, the Burlington store received citations for similar safety hazards.
A Massachusetts location of the popular clothing store Forever 21 has received citations from OSHA that total $55,000. OSHA investigators found two repeat violations in the Burlington store.
One of the safety hazards was the potential for boxes of apparel to fall in the store room injuring employees. The boxes were not secured to prevent collapse or displacement. The second citation was related to a compromised exit route, blocked by boxes.
The store received citations similar to these in 2011.
"Improper storage of stock and inadequate exit routes can and do put workers at risk of serious and severe injury," said Jeffrey A. Erskine, OSHA's area director for Middlesex and Essex counties in Massachusetts, on the OSHA website. "Particularly disturbing is that these same hazards were previously found at another Forever 21 store. An employer with multiple locations, such as Forever 21, must ensure that safe and healthful working conditions are maintained at all its workplaces."
