AIG Offers OSHA Specific Program for Construction Industry

To assist construction companies with insurance issues, AIG is offering a new program that provides OSHA-specific legal assistance.

American International Group, Inc. (AIG) introduced a new program that is specified for constuction clientele. This program, OSHA Counsel Assist, "provides policyholders with legal support and additional limits if a work place injury or death results in an investigation by OSHA."

“Supporting clients in their effort to meet and exceed OSHA standards for safety on construction sites is critically important to AIG,” said Tom Grandmaison, EVP and Construction Casualty Leader, AIG US and Canada, in a statement on AIG's website. “Equally important is our commitment to ensure the financial stability – and ultimate completion – of the buildings, bridges, schools, and other important construction projects in which our clients are involved.”

OSHA Assist will cater to construction clients in three specific ways: allowing access to legal counsel familiar with OSHA, use of legal counsel in arbitration issues pertaining to OSHA investigations, and reimbursements of defense costs up to a certain amount.
