A Cyber Monday for Safety Buyers
Grainger and J.J. Keller are among the suppliers offering Cyber Monday specials today.
If the prospect of saving 30 percent off the regular price of protective eyewear or respirators appeals to you, Grainger's Cyber Monday specials web page is the place to shop online today. The distributor said this is its first-ever Cyber Monday offering, and why not: Online buying today, mainly in consumer products, is expected to beat last year's record total of an estimated $1 billion, comScore and other experts predict.
J.J. Keller & Associates also is offering today-only online specials, with 20 percent markdowns on training DVDs, software, supplies and publications. Laservision USA is offering 20 percent off today for purchases made through its online store, using the coupon code cybertwenty. Arcwear.com is offering half off the purchase price of its "7 Electrical Safety Habits" video (keyword "arc flash training").
U.S. retail e-commerce spending so far during the 2011 holiday season has amounted to an estimated $12.7 billion, comScore reported, saying this figure is 15 percent higher than the corresponding days last year. The total for the day after Thanksgiving was $816 million in online sales, making it the heaviest online spending day thus far in 2011.
The company's chairman, Gian Fulgoni, said last year's Cyber Monday was the heaviest day of online spending ever.
