Funding Issues Fill FEMSA/FAMA Meetings' Agenda

The joint fall meetings and conference of the Fire and Emergency Manufacturers and Services Association and the Fire Apparatus Manufacturers' Association will take place Oct. 5-7 in Arlington, Va.

The Fire and Emergency Manufacturers and Services Association (FEMSA) and the Fire Apparatus Manufacturers’ Association (FAMA) are holding their joint fall meetings and conference Oct. 5-7 at the Crystal City Marriott Hotel in Arlington, Va.

Each of the associations has more than 100 member companies that provide the full range of firefighting products and services, including apparatus, PPE, respiratory protection, and communications gear.

Discussions of U.S. fire departments' funding issues (including FEMA grants and municipal budgets) dominate the meetings' agenda, which includes a "Surviving in a Turbulent Economy" fire chiefs roundtable on Oct. 7. The panelists scheduled to participate are fire chiefs from cities in North Carolina, Virginia, and Nevada and a deputy chief from Maryland.

One of FEMSA's newest members is MarKen PPE Restoration of North Las Vegas, Nev. The company provides inspection, cleaning, decontamination, and repair of personal protective ensembles and ensemble elements for firefighting.
