A+A 2011 On Record Pace

A record 1,580 exhibitors have booked 617,800 square feet of exhibit space for the Oct. 18-21 trade show and the Congress for Safety and Health at Work.

Organizers of the A+A 2011 trade show taking place next month in Dusseldorf, Germany, say the show already has booked a record 1,580 exhibitors from 54 countries who will occupy 617,800 square feet of exhibit space. Two-thirds of the exhibitors are coming from outside Germany; German companies will use (292,200 square feet), followd by Italy (48,400 square feet), China (34,400), France (32,300), Great Britain (30,100), and the Netherlands (21,500).

The Oct. 18-21 show at the Dusseldorf fairgrounds includes the Congress for Safety and Health at Work, which is focused on ergonomics, employee health, workplace design, and challenges due to specific dangers and stress. The Congress has been organized by the German Federal Association Health and Safety at Work (Basi).

"A+A 2011 is highly anticipated. After all, the areas of occupational and workplace safety are facing challenges all over the world due to the changes in the work environment. Keywords in this regard are demographic development, changes in employment relationships towards more independent work, [and] also the increased number of women in the workforce," said Klaus Bornack, managing director of Bornack GmbH & Co. KG and president of the A+A Advisory Board.

A+A 2011 will utilize Halls 3 to 10 at the fairgrounds and will focus on PPE, health at work (including ergonomics), and security at work (including fire protection, disaster relief, environmental protection, and measurement and control technology). An "Innovation Park Hazardous Materials" in Hall 9 will display new products and services for handling hazmats.
