Safety 2011 Fall Protection Sessions Sparkle

A June 13 session is a case study about the solution to fall protection challenges at the U.S. Capitol, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' program will be showcased June 15.

Next month's Safety 2011 conference presented by the American Society of Safety Engineers will include some interesting fall protection case studies presented by LJB Inc. safety professionals with some of their clients. The Chicago event is ASSE's 100th anniversary celebration and a highlight of the 2011 conference calendar.

Working with Architect of the Capitol safety engineer Marjory Anderson, CSP, LJB principal Kevin Wilcox, P.E., CSP, will present a "Proactive Safety Professionals Create Successful Fall Protection Solutions: A Case Study" session at 10:45 a.m. June 13. They will discuss the Architect of the Capitol's implementation of effective fall protection solutions.

LJB project manager Meg Phillips, P.E., CSP, will co-present "Using Fall Protection Procedures in the Real World" with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Senior Safety Engineer Ellen Stewart, CSP, at 11 a.m. June 15. They will discuss the Corps' fall protection program.

By presenting with clients, according to the company, participants in the sessions will benefit from learning how best practices and general safety principles are implemented in real fall protection programs.

In addition, LJB safety engineer Thom Kramer will present "Fall Protection: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow" at 3 p.m. June 14 on behalf of the International Society for Fall Protection. Kramer is the association's president.

LJB also will present a pre-conference full-day seminar on managed fall protection programs on June 11 and will exhibit at booth 728. LJB offers additional information about fall protection at its blog.
