ISFP's President Wins Culbertson Award

Fall protection expert Thomas Kramer will receive the Charles V. Culbertson Outstanding Service Award from the American Society of Safety Engineers on June 12.

Thomas Kramer, P.E., CSP, a fall protection expert who is a principal in LJB Inc., will receive this year's Charles V. Culbertson Outstanding Service Award from the American Society of Safety Engineers on June 12. The award is given to recognize an individual who has provided significant service to ASSE and to the safety profession.

The award will be presented during the House of Delegates meeting prior to ASSE's Professional Development Conference in Chicago, where the society will celebrate its centennial.

Kramer has served in various roles for ASSE. He chairs two subcommittees of the ASSE/ANSI Z359 fall protection standards committee and is president of the International Society for Fall Protection.

"The goal of my professional life is to reduce risk for workers at heights," he said. "I appreciate ASSE for its similar commitment to encouraging safety. I am proud to be associated with such a great organization."

Kramer is a safety consultant and structural engineer with bachelor's and master's degrees in civil engineering, along with an MBA. He specializes in the assessment and design of fall protection systems. LJB is a 100-person facility and infrastructure design firm with offices in Ohio, Michigan, Missouri.
