OSHA Taking Applications for Online Outreach Training
The agency will sign five-year, non-financial agreements with the applicants it authorizes to deliver the 10-hour and 30-hour courses in construction, general industry, and maritime.
OSHA announced it is accepting applications until June 27 from organizations that want to deliver online Outreach Training -- 10-hour and 30-hour courses in construction, general industry, and maritime. OSHA will authorize successful applicants to deliver it and will sign five-year, non-financial cooperative agreements with them, saying its goal is to "facilitate the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of worker safety training provided by authorized online trainers."
Current OSHA-authorized online training providers must submit an application to be considered to offer online Outreach Training Program courses, and past performance will be considered in the selection process.
Applications must be received by the OSHA Directorate of Training and Education no later than 4:30 p.m. CDT June 27, according to the notice. They should be send to the attention of Don Guerra, Program Analyst, Office of Training and Educational Programs, OSHA Directorate of Training and Education, 2020 S. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60005-4102.
A proposal conference will be held April 19 at that address.
Applicant organizations must be headquartered within the United States in order to be eligible. The notice states they must demonstrate that:
1) Training or education is part of their mission and more than 50 percent of their staff and dollar resources are devoted to training or education;
2) They have the appropriate infrastructure and experience in developing, conducting, and evaluating online training;
3) They have experience in developing, delivering, updating and evaluating occupational safety and health training;
4) They have or will contract with one or more authorized OSHA Outreach Training Program trainers supporting each of the courses for which the application is submitted. The trainers must have a minimum of 3 years training experience and be in good standing (not on probation, suspended, or revoked as defined in OSHA's Investigation and Review Procedures).
