Tower Erectors' Group Updates Safety Guide

The updated document, available to NATE members, contains 18 sections. Everything from hazard identification to RF exposure, emergency response, training, and the HazCom Standard is covered.

The National Association of Tower Erectors has released the fourth edition of its Accident Prevention, Safety and Health Program Guide to help member companies keep their safety programs in top shape.

The document contains suggested formats and procedures for fall prevention, hazard identification, and more, including samples of a climber exam and evaluation form.

Eighteen sections are included in all. The guide's Hazard Identification section explains the methods use to identify and analyze hazards and develop solutions, including and a new Job Hazard Analysis form. The Competent Climber Requirements section references the latest ANSI Z359 standards. In the Hazard Communication Standard section is a sample program and a reference/resources list. The RF Exposure section includes Frequently Added Questions and a resource list. And the Emergency Response section's explains what OSHA requires in an employer's emergency action plan.
