NTSB Discussing 2010 Most Wanted Changes Today

Among the regulations are primary seat belt laws, graduated licensing laws for young drivers, hard-core drinking driver laws, and recreational boating safety laws. New ones may be considered, according to the board.

The National Transportation Safety Board will hold a news conference today, starting at 10:30 a.m. EST, to discuss the board's 2010 most wanted safety improvements. Among the regulations are primary seat belt laws, graduated licensing laws for young drivers, hard-core drinking driver laws, and recreational boating safety laws.

"Despite the fact that all of these laws have been proven to save lives, many states have not yet adopted them," according to the board's announcement. "Reporting on its annual review, the Board may consider new items for the list."

The news conference's location is the NTSB Board Room and Conference Center, 429 L'Enfant Plaza SW, Washington, DC. The event will be presented as a live and archived webcast at http://www.ntsb.gov/Events/Boardmeeting.htm.
