FDRsafety Offers Free PPE Checklist
Companies can use it to assess their needs for various types of protective equipment, from head to toe, based on a hazard assessment.
FDRsafety, a Brentwood, Tenn.-based occupational safety consulting firm, is offering a free PPE checklist and hazard assessment in PDF format that companies can use.
The firm uses this checklist during its professional hazard assessments. "We are providing this tool for free because of extreme importance of personal protective equipment in guarding workers against injury or death," CEO Fred Rine said.
He said having the right PPE ready and available to employees is only half the battle. "The real trick is making sure that it is actually used," which brings up the importance of safety awareness training, said Rine. FDRsafety provides that training, as well as temporary safety staffing, expert witness services, OSHA compliance services, and industrial hygiene.
