Papers Due Nov. 1 for 2011 Hazmat Response Teams Conference
The deadline in IAFC's call for presentations is 11:59 p.m. EST on Nov. 1. The conference takes place May 18-22 in Baltimore.
Saying 1,000 emergency responders are expected to attend, the International Association of Fire Chiefs is seeking presentations that concern new ideas and practical solutions to challenges faced by hazardous materials response teams. While pre-conference half-day and full-day workshops will be presented May 19 during the 2011 International Hazardous Materials Response Team Conference at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront, the presentations are due by 11:59 p.m. EST on Nov. 1. Conference sessions will be held May 20-21 and general sessions May 20-22.
Only online presentations will be accepted. The call for presentations says feedback from the 2010 conference survey indicated attendees are interested in these subjects:

- Mitigation techniques and practices
- Company officer hazmat incident command

The conference will be attended by local, state, and federal responders, law enforcement, special operations, private-sector responders, and others with an interest in hazardous materials and WMD response. Presenters will receive complimentary full-conference registration and materials, assistance in booking travel accommodations, and a $50 stipend for time and incidental travel expenses.
