Papers Sought for 2011 Protective Clothing Symposium

The ASTM International Committee F23 on Personal Protective Clothing and Equipment is sponsoring the June 16-17, 2011, event in Anaheim. Interested presenters must submit a 250-300 word abstract online by Aug. 15, 2010.

Organizers are inviting potential presenters to submit papers for the Ninth Symposium on Performance of Protective Clothing and Equipment: Emerging Issues and Technologies, which will be held June 16-17, 2011, at the Marriott Anaheim in Anaheim, Calif., and is sponsored by ASTM International Committee F23 on Personal Protective Clothing and Equipment. The submission deadline is Aug. 15, 2010.

The symposium will address recent research, advances in personal protective technology, challenges in the development and use of PPE, and areas that might be addressed through new or updated standards.

Interested presenters must submit a 250-300 word abstract online at www.astm.org/F23symp611.htm by the deadline; they will be notified by Oct. 15, according to ASTM's announcement. Symposium presenters are required to submit their papers to the Journal of ASTM International -- an online, peer-reviewed journal -- unless the symposium's co-chairs grant permission to make a presentation without a manuscript being submitted.
