Right or Wrong? Video Shows 6 Powered Access Errors

The new IPAF safety video uses scenarios extracted from its popular operator training course, which is used to train about 80,000 people per year.

This shot is a still image from the new IPAF safety video.A new safety video from the International Powered Access Foundation showcases both right and wrong procedures for using aerial work platforms. The 20-minute "Spot the Mistake" video "encapsulates the most common operator errors and what the right procedures should be," Rupert Douglas-Jones, IPAF's international training manager, said. "It's a great educational tool, and we thank all the producers and actors for their enthusiasm in making the scenes realistic."

Divided into six scenarios that are extracted from the IPAF operator training course taken by about 80,000 students per year, the video depicts one deliberate mistake in each, then shows the correct procedure.

The video was released Sept. 9 at the IPAF Professional Development Seminar in the United Kingdom. Versions in Dutch, French, German, Italian, and Spanish will be released at subsequent seminars in other countries. The video can be viewed and downloaded from the Publications/Film section of www.ipaf.org.
