Electrical Safety at Center Stage Next Month
Recent changes to the NFPA 70E standard, the latest information about maintenance of transformers, and a March 9 morning keynote address about safety responsibility by veteran author Carl Potter, CSP, are highlights of PowerTest 2009, a March 9-12 event that will take place at the Grand Hyatt Hotel on the San Antonio Riverwalk. The event is hosted by the InterNational Electrical Testing Association (NETA).
"This year's conference has it all: a fantastic location, outstanding technical offerings, and a perfect setting to network with the leading players in our industry,” said Ron Widup, conference chair for PowerTest 2009 and executive vice president of Shermco Industries, which is based in Irving, Texas.
"Participants will have a fun and historic place to bring the family while they gain knowledge of some of the best emerging practices and technological breakthroughs our sector has seen in years," Widup added. "Whether you come to gain insight into practical applications in power systems, participate in panel session discussions with industry peers or to experience San Antonio's history, food and fun, the conference promises to be a worthwhile trip."
The expo will take place March 10. The conference will include a symposium on IEC 61850 that describes tools and techniques to assist in commissioning and troubleshooting electrical substation automation; a new product forum; and a spouse/guest tour to the Texas Hill Country.
